Our names are Allison (me), Demica, Kaela and Ashley! It's obvious we all share a great love for animals. We found each other in a class at FGCU called Civic Engagement and quickly found we all are shared a passion. Further into our studies we've learned how important lending a helping hand to those in need can really be. Knowing this we decided to channel our passion into something bigger, something we wanted to change by personally contributing our time to.

If you took time to look you might be surprised at the number of homeless animals that occupy your local shelters. We say this because the shelters we've gotten the chance to visit (just locally) are the homes to a jaw dropping amount of dogs and cats. You would be even more surprised, as were we to learn that there are an astonishing 12,000 animals put to sleep every day in shelters around the country, only to make room for more animals to be brought in.. Unfortunately, euthanasia can be an inevitable outcome due to the lack of available resources some shelters consume.

Learning as students, that we have the power to drop these grossly high numbers and put a voice out for animals in need; forced us to want to take action in every way we have power. This is just the beginning, we hope to spread our word and give our time anyway we can. As humans we have the god given right to decide our path and what we choose to do with our lives. All animals lack a voice. Fortunate for them, a lot of animals get the opportunity to live out their lives the way every animal deserves. We are here for the others to try to give them a second chance; because we feel they most of all need to be heard.
